The 2013-2014 season came to an end but the wave of new restaurants is not letting up. The month of May saw quite a few restaurant openings (and closings) in Naples. Take a look at some of the newcomers to the Naples dining scene.
Rumba opened up in the former space of Fernandez the Bull (relax, the North Naples location remains open). Enjoy Cuban Sandwiches and other Cuban delicacies in this East Naples restaurant. It looks like the menu stayed the same from the Fernandez days, but there has been the addition of a few new items-
Mercato’s restaurants received a new sibling this month with Rusty Bucket. Tucked between Bravo! and The Counter, the Rusty Bucket is a Tavern with American food. This new establishment started with a splash when it raised $3250 for the rebuilding efforts of the Naples YMCA.
A long time in the making – coming soon sign has been in the windows for many months – Saladwork is opening up just a few doors down from Sunburst Cafe at the Pine Ridge Shopping Center (intersection of Pine Ridge Rd. and Airport). If you are looking for a lighter lunch choice, Saladworks serves up a large collection of salads and sandwiches.
Technically, Famous Davis Deli, didn’t open in May, but rather on April 28. Close Enough! Located at 9331 U.S. 41 N., in North Naples, famous Davis Deli serves Steaks and Wraps – as well as several styles and types of Chili.
